Lila Felix

Hello all my awesome friends!!! I want to introduce you to one of my NEW author friends.  Why new?  Because up until this week she was an on-line friend, someone whose tweets I always look for on twitter or posts on FB.  She is a genuinely sweet, thoughtful, kind person.  What happened this week?  I read her Debut novel, Emerge, and I fell in love!!  Lila, I'm so glad you agreed to an interview and can't wait for everyone to meet you!!!

So, what do you look for in the books you read?

Honestly, I look for a happy ending.  I read books because I love to feel like I’m living vicariously through someone else.  And there’s enough pain and heartache in the real world, so I want to have happy endings, always.

Emerge definately had a happy ending, the last line in the last chapter made my heart skip a beat!!  You know a ton of great authors, any you want to recommend to others?  Or do you have a favorite book you don't want others to miss?

Come on Nancy!  You know I can’t pick.  So, I’ll name some of my faves for you: Shelly Crane, Georgia Cates, Rachel Higginson, AM Hargrove, Katella Stegmann, Michelle Leighton.

I just can’t name a favorite book.  Can’t do it.

Those are some of my favorites, too!!  So far, what's the best part about being an author?

The best part of being an author is the fans.  Seriously, it’s the best feeling in the world to post something on Facebook and have this group of people from around the country and the world respond in such a positive manner.  They are so supportive.

That is a great feeling, so what's the worst part about being an author?

For me, the worst part about being an author is just the fear.  You’re putting a piece of your soul out there on the chopping block for the world to see and you feel like some are waiting for you with meat cleavers.  Sometimes it’s debilitating.  It truly is.  But again, that’s where the fans and other authors come in.  It’s not long before they start drumming up their support and you’re ok again.

What do you want others to know about you?

Anything. I’m really an open book.  Get it? Open book?

LOL! You are funny!  What's the last book you read?

Shallow by Georgia Cates. And I will describe it in one word, brilliant.

Geeeze, I'm glad you only used one word, I've already bought Shallow and am plowing through my TBR so I can read it!! (Love you Georgia!!) Where do you see yourself in 1, 5 and 10 years?

This sounds like a question that my husband would ask.  He’s a planner. Me? Not so much.  But I’ll try.  1 year? I hope to still be writing.  I’m absolutely in love with it.  5 years? My kids will be teenagers, so sanity would be my goal for then. 10 years? I’m sure you’re looking for something profound here but honestly in 10 years I hope to just be happy.  I’m a simple girl.

Do you have a favorite Book Blogger you want to spread the word about?

I have two.  MandyIreadIndie and Hootie from Globug and Hootie.  Both of them are fantastic reviewers and Hootie’s reviews will make you laugh for weeks.

I LOVE Mandy, in fact I think that's how I met you!!  I met Globug and I stalk Hootie!  LOL!  What project are you working on now?

Right now I am working on a book which has become almost sacred to me.  This book feels like I owe it to the MC to get her right—to do her justice.  I’m really excited about it. But that’s all I can give you right now.

If you could meet anyone (alive or dead) at Starbucks for a cup of White Mocha Latte, who would it be?

Oh, I would kill for a white mocha latte right now.  Can it be fictional? I would give body parts to meet Seth from Rachel Higginson’s new Starbright series.  But not my eyes, I would need those.

Lila, thanks so much for stopping by today!!  I'm looking forward to meeting you in person next June at UTopYA!  Congratulations on Emerge and Perchance!!!  For any of you not already stalking Lila, here's where you can find her:
